Texas Divorce Real Estate

The house can become one of the biggest decisions in a divorce. You don't have to navigate the real estate part alone.

A home can represent finances, stability, memories and the next chapter for both people. I help homeowners approach the sale with a clear real estate plan, professional communication and a focus on getting the property successfully to closing.

Serving divorce-related real estate clients in Montgomery County, Travis County and Galveston County.

A steady real estate process

When emotions are high, the transaction still needs a plan.

Selling a home during divorce can involve decisions about timing, repairs, access for showings, pricing, offers and closing. My role is not to take sides. My role is to represent the real estate transaction professionally, communicate clearly and help keep the property moving forward.

You do not need to have every disagreement resolved before having an initial real estate conversation.
We can begin by talking about the property, the market and what would be involved in preparing it for sale. Your attorneys remain the source for legal advice and decisions about each party's rights and obligations.
What I help with

Turning a complicated situation into manageable real estate decisions.

Understanding the home's market position

We'll look at condition, comparable sales, local competition and the factors that can affect how the property is positioned for buyers.

Preparing for market

I help create a practical plan for photos, showings, repairs or an as-is strategy so everyone can understand what needs to happen before the listing goes live.

Offers through closing

I communicate the real estate terms clearly, help evaluate offers from a market perspective and coordinate the transaction with the title company and other professionals through closing.

Common questions

Questions homeowners often have about selling during divorce.

Should we repair the house before selling?

Not necessarily. We can compare the likely market benefit of repairs with their cost, time and complexity. In some situations, selling as-is may be the more practical approach.

What if we disagree about the listing?

I can provide real estate information about pricing, preparation and offers, but I do not decide legal disputes between spouses. If an issue depends on a court order, settlement agreement or legal rights, that question belongs with your attorneys.

Can you communicate with both sides?

Communication expectations should be established clearly at the beginning and must be consistent with the representation arrangement and any legal requirements. My goal is to keep real estate communication organized, documented and professional.

Do I need to wait until the divorce is final?

Not every situation follows the same timeline. Whether and when a property can or should be sold depends on the owners, agreements, court orders and circumstances. Your attorney should advise you on the legal timing; I can help plan the real estate timeline around it.

A neutral, professional approach

The goal is not to “win” the listing process. The goal is to get the home sold well.

A divorce-related sale works better when real estate decisions are grounded in the property and the market. I focus on the home's condition, pricing, buyer response, contract terms and closing requirements rather than the personal conflict behind the transaction.

Clear communication

Important real estate information should be easy to understand and delivered consistently.

Respect for legal boundaries

I handle real estate. Attorneys handle legal advice, court orders, property rights and settlement questions.

Focus on the property

The listing strategy should be built around the market and the home's actual condition—not emotion or pressure.

A private conversation can be the first step

Thinking about selling the home during a divorce?

You don't have to be ready to list today. Tell me what's happening with the property, and we can start by discussing the real estate side and what a potential sale would involve.
